Pap Smear Guidelines
Pap smear guidelines do not recommend further diagnostics unless a patient has a history of abnormal vaginal discharge, urethritis or other symptoms of HPV.
Most cervical cancers are directly linked to infection with HPV cancer-causing types. Although patients need to realize the gravity of a positive test, they also need to recognize the fact that only a small fraction of women with irregular cytology findings will lead to invasive cancer.
Pap smear guidelines do not recommend further diagnostics unless a patient has a history of abnormal vaginal discharge, urethritis or other symptoms of HPV.

Pap Smear Guidelines -
Vaginal Discharge, Urethritis
Because Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is so difficult to identify in the absence of visible symptoms, it is essential that persons who suspect that they are at risk see a physician. To decrease the likelihood of potential progression to cancer, early screening and detection for cervical disorders is essential. Pap smear guidelines do not recommend further diagnostics unless a patient has a history of abnormal vaginal discharge, urethritis or other symptoms of HPV.
